Metal Deck Roof Waterproofing.
Factory and warehouse roofs that leak at the laps and the fixings. Sprayed on, seamless, and the roof stays in service while we work. This page sets out the four layers, from the existing sheet to the top coat.
The build-up.
Four layers, starting with the roof that is already there.
From the sheet up
- Existing corrugated sheetCleaned, fixings tightened, rust treated.
- EPIPRIME with quartz sand broadcastEpoxy primer, keyed for the membrane.
- POLYSEAL Polyurea-HTwo-component hybrid polyurea membrane, spray-applied. One seamless layer over the laps and the fixings.
- UV-resistant top coatProtects the membrane from the sun.
Materials.
- EPIPRIME
Epoxy primer. Quartz sand is broadcast into it to key the membrane.
- POLYSEAL Polyurea-H
Two-component hybrid polyurea membrane, applied by spray.
- Top coat
UV-resistant coating over the membrane.
EPIPRIME and POLYSEAL Polyurea-H are made by CHEMIND. Where a project specifies another manufacturer's system, we apply that instead.
Questions we are asked.
- Where do metal deck roofs leak?
- At the laps and the fixings. The membrane is sprayed over both as one seamless layer.
- Does the building have to stop while you work?
- No. The roof stays in service while we work.
- What is done to the existing sheet first?
- It is cleaned, the fixings are tightened and rust is treated, before the primer goes on.
